The Planet Uranus, Was Its Name a Mistake?

Among the plants of the solar system, Uranus is unique. First of all, it was named for a Greek rather than a Roman god. But at least in English, its name brings humor. It is also a planet that I have had the privilege of seeing in my own eyes despite it only being visible in a telescope. This video is about its name how it got it and some minor discussion about changing it.

Transparent Aluminum from Star Trek is now Real

In the movie Star Trek 4 The Voyage Home, Captain Kirk and his closest roommates, go back in time to find two whales from the past so that they can be transported to the future where they are needed to save Earth but are extinct. Scotty needed to make a holding tank for the whales on the ship but had no money because that is also unavailable in the in the future. Based on his knowledge of future technology Scotty shows the head of the manufacturing company Transparent Aluminum.

Now this technology actually exists in the form of ALON, which has been appropriately nicknamed Transparent Aluminum. This ceramic is made of Aluminium, Oxygen, and Nitrogen. Once nothing but science fictionTransparent Aluminum, is now reality, Transparent Aluminum or Aluminum Oxynitride (ALON) is much stronger than glass and likely become cheaper to manufacture over time, but today it is used by NASA and the U.S, Military.
